I am raising money for the Rondal McDonald House Charities of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana. Some co-workers and I have formed a team, McBuilder with cheese, and will be participating in a Plane Pull (a tug-of-war versus a hefty Southwest Airlines 737 plane) and we are looking for sponsors. My six-year-old son’s homework assignment involved him coloring in various items after figuring out which ones met certain requirements.
Anyway, it was getting close to his bed time and he wasn’t finished coloring. He said it was taking him so long because he was trying so hard to color in between the lines because he “wants to be an artist.” This made me smile as I wondered how many years it would be before he discovered that what makes him an artist is his desire to not want to color in between the lines.
